چکیده

Thin layer chromatography has been used for the analysis of natural and synthetic steroids in various environmental materials. In this work I steroid analysis in environmental materials such pharmaceuticals, plant products and other biological specimens. An overview of structural complexities and biological/nutritional aspects including hypocholesterolemic activities of phytosterols is provided in this workshop. review also covers specific analyses of natural/synthetic standard mixtures to shed light on potential applicability in plant sample assays. Examples of combined chromatographic techniques (GC-TLC) characteristics of sterol components are discussed in the context of analyte substituent effects, structural factors and stationary /mobile phase considerations.

Lighter than Water Dispersive Liquid-liquid Microextraction Coupled with High Performance Liquid Chromatography for Determination of Cholecalciferol and Calcifediol from Plasma

In this study, a dispersive liquid–liquid microextraction method using an extraction solvent lighter than water has been developed for the extraction and preconcentration of cholecalciferol and calcifediol from plasma samples followed by high performance liquid chromatography determination. Initially, acetonitrile and sodium chloride (NaCl) are added into the plasma as an extraction solvent and...

Multifunctional hydroxyapatite and poly(D,L-lactide-co-glycolide) nanoparticles for the local delivery of cholecalciferol.

Cholecalciferol, vitamin D3, plays an important role in bonemetabolism by regulating extracellular levels of calcium. Presented here is a study on the effects of the local delivery of cholecalciferol (D3) using nanoparticulate carriers composed of hydroxyapatite (HAp) and poly(D,L-lactide-co-glycolide) (PLGA). Multifunctional nanoparticulate HAp-based powders were prepared for the purpose of: (...

Production of vitamin D3 enriched biomass of Saccharomyces cerevisiae as a potential food supplement: evaluation and optimization of culture conditions using Plackett–Burman and response surface methodological approaches

Vitamin D deficiency causes osteoporosis, osteopenia, fractures, rickets and more recently is linked with some chronic illnesses such as cancer. Because of the safety and probiotic properties of the yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae, we hypothesized that yeast cells enriched with cholecalciferol (vitamin D3) could represent a solution for prevention or treatment of vitamin D deficiency. In this st...

Evaluation of cholecalciferol sources using broiler chick bioassays.

Three experiments were conducted to test the potencies of nine sources of cholecalciferol using a chick bioassay. The tested products were compared with a Sigma Reference Standard (SRS). All of the diets fed to the chicks were prepared from corn-soybean meal. Each of the products was in premix form containing cholecalciferol. Their physical characteristics reflected the methods used to produce ...
